Pastor Rick Nelson came to GBT in August of 1991 to work with the founding pastor, Ronny Dabbs. After Bro. Dabbs passed away in 1993 of cancer, Bro. Rick was voted as the pastor.
He and Mrs. Pam have been married for 29 years. She is the Director of Student Services at Cumberland Law School (Samford University) and also serves as the music coordinator of the church. They have two daughters. Both are graduates of Tabernacle Christian and Samford University. Julianna is married to Michael Sparks and resides in Homewood. Jennifer is married to David Brown and they live in Lithia Springs, Georgia.
Pastor is a 1980 graduate of Baptist University of America with a degree in Theology.
Bro. Rick is an avid outdoorsman. He loves to hike, golf, and he loves to snow ski every winter. He has run for a number of years and has finished the St. Jude marathon in Memphis as well as 13 half-marathons and two sprint triathlons.

Bro. Andrew joined GBT in September of 2005. He works with our youth, as well as other areas in the church. Bro. Andrew is one of sixteen children and has three children himself: Drew (6), Anna (4), and Aaron (2). He and his wife Amber have been married for seven years.
Bro. Andrew graduated from Trinity Baptist College in Jacksonville, Florida with his bachelor of arts in Biblical Studies. Some hobbies that he enjoys are basketball, Ohio State football, mountain biking, and spending time with his family.
Bro. Glenn Dickson - School Administrator 205-631-9318 ext. 14
Bro. Glenn and his family moved to Alabama in the summer of 2000 to join the ministry of Gardendale Baptist Tabernacle. He serves as the coordinator for the KIDZONE Children’s Ministry, as well as principal of Tabernacle Christian School. He has been married for 17 years to Lisa and they have four children: Lindsey (14), Alyssa (12), Kaylie (10), and Josiah (8).
Bro. Glenn received his Bachelors of Science degree in Secondary Education and then in 1995 earned his Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Pensacola Christian College. He enjoys reading and spending time with his wife and children.
Vicki Steadman was born in Memphis, Tennessee, the youngest of three girls. She and her husband, Ronnie, attended Tennessee Temple University and upon completion of school went to Alexander City, Alabama to minister in a children’s home, while her husband was also the associate pastor.
In 1974 the Lord brought Ronnie and Vicki and their three children, Tina, Ronnie, Jr., and Nathan to Gardendale Baptist Tabernacle to work in Children’s Church and to teach in Tabernacle Christian School. All three children graduated from TCS and Tennessee Temple University.
Vicki and Ronnie taught in Children’s Church for 15 years and also worked with the teens in the youth department. She has taught in childcare, kindergarten 5, worked as receptionist and is presently the registrar and kindergarten supervisor at TCS.
She loves to play tennis, hike, read and visit her children and 3 grandchildren in Chattanooga and Los Angeles.
Amber and her husband, Andrew, came to GBT in September 2005. She attended Trinity Baptist College in Jacksonville, Florida where she married. Amber and her husband have been married now for seven years and have three children: Drew (6), Anna (4), and Aaron (2).
Amber currently teaches one of the K3 classes at Tabernacle Christian School and is also the financial secretary for the church. Amber is also an intregal part of the youth ministry with her husband at GBT.
Amber also loves to play tennis, and spend time with her family.
